Colorist & Oil Master
Good color, or color that expresses the light key of nature, can make even the most mundane subject matter strikingly beautiful. “Anything under the sun is beautiful if you have the vision—it is the seeing of the thing that makes it so.” — Charles Hawthorne (from Hawthorne on Painting).
I see a remarkable change in my students’ work after only one day of painting. They begin to see color in the shadows. Many students say they have discovered a world of color that has changed them forever — their vision has been altered. ~ Camille
Camille has been an invited instructor, lecturer, and panelist on the Hensche/Hawthorne colorist approach to seeing and painting at American Artist Magazine’s Weekend with the Masters, and is a regularly featured, on-stage painting demonstrator at PleinAir Magazine’s Annual Plein Air Convention.
An acknowledged authority on color who regularly serves as an entry and awards judge for various painting competitions and events, Camille conducts painting workshops across the country, and is one of a handful of former Hensche students currently teaching the “Cape School” approach. She offers regular weekly classes at her Petaluma studio in Northern California, and online.

About The Artist
In addition to her training at Wayne State University in Detroit and the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, Camille Przewodek studied color with impressionist master, Henry Hensche, at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA. The original Cape Cod School of Art, founded by Charles W. Hawthorne in 1899, and continued by his assistant instructor Henry Hensche, advanced a teaching focused essentially on “seeing” the various light keys of nature, and expressing them through accurate color relationships with emphasis on stating “the big masses.”
Camille is a Master Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, American Women Artists, and Oil Painters of America.
